Thomasina (Tammy) Neely: Candidacy Announcement
Democratic candidate for Montezuma County Clerk and Recorder
I have been a full-time employee with the Montezuma County Clerk’s office for 26 years, two of those years as a Chief Deputy II and eight years as a Chief Deputy. I have worked with three County Clerks. I have worked with Earline White in the Dolores County Clerk’s office as well. My experience with the office has been mainly motor vehicle, but I also have experience with elections, recording, vital statistics and liquor licensing, as well as sat with the Board of County Commissioners.
I have been a resident of Montezuma County most of my life. My husband and I share a small business in Lewis. I have three stepsons, two daughters-in-law and four wonderful grandsons.
I do not think of myself as a politician but as a person who has experienced the same struggles of all individuals that live in Montezuma County. There are tools such as technology to make it convenient for the taxpayer in all departments of the office that should be utilized.
The reason for running for this office is to balance the budget to the best of my ability, lead a staff in a proud and professional manner, and to meet the issues of the County Clerk’s office with straightforward ambitions on issues such as taxes, elections, and technologies. The integrity of the office should be non-partisan as we are there for you, the voter.
